Everyone’s buzzing about the “indie horror underground,” though no one’s quite sure what it is.
Okay, full disclosure: We literally made this term up just now. Still, we think it identifies a very real phenomenon in the horror fiction scene.

For May, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading Richard Dansky’s horror novel, Firefly Rain. When Jacob left home for a new life, he pretty much forgot all about Maryfield, North Carolina. But Maryfield never forgot him. Or forgave him. You can purchase a copy of the book here.
The club will hold a discussion on Sunday, May 28, at 8:30 pm Mountain. This free, online event will take place via Zoom with a run time of 90 minutes. To sign up, please email the moderator, A.E. Santana. A Zoom link will be sent to participants closer to the event date. To keep up to date with The Thing in the Labyrinth book club, sign up for the newsletter here.
Please note that club sessions will be recorded and made available to The Thing in the Labyrinth and DHC members through private Facebook channels.
DHC member A.E. Santana recently sold her short story, “Night Mews,” to No Bad Books Press for their anthology, THE MIRROR.
Great to see, A.E.!
