Horror Book Club: Parable of the Sower

For August, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading the critically acclaimed novel Parable of the Sower by award-winning author Octavia E. Butler. In this novel, after a global apocalypse devastates the environment and economy, a minister’s daughter Lauren Oya Olamina survives the massacre of her family and community. Fleeing north through a desolate America with two young companions, she confronts perilous challenges while spreading a transformative new religion focused on survival and change.
