Harvest of Horror

It’s harvest season, and Denver Horror Collective is kicking off our Harvest of Horror by announcing the freshest fiction from our small press and members!

FRONTIERS OF FRIGHT: A SOUTHWESTERN HORROR ANTHOLOGY, is scheduled for a soft launch on Halloween. In this anthology, readers will explore the ominous and unnerving aspects of the Southwest landscape, its creepy inhabitants, and unfortunate visitors. Take an eerie journey with 18 chilling tales ranging from horrors from frightful frontiers times to present day terrors. FRONTIERS OF FRIGHT will be available in print and eBook. 

Also, be sure to check out our latest Terror Tuesday installment, announcing WHERE THE SHADOWS ARE SHOWN, the much-anticipated forthcoming short story collection from DHC founding member, Josh Schlossberg, on sale September 30!

Horror Book Club: The Ghostlands of Natalie Glasgow

For September, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading the horror collection, The Ghostlands of Natalie Glasgow, by Bram Stoker Award-winning author Hailey Piper. The Ghostlands of Natalie Glasgow is a new collection of seven interconnected stories surrounding the events of The Possession of Natalie Glasgow. You can purchase a copy here.

The club will hold a discussion on Sunday, September 22, at 6:30 pm Pacific time / 7:30 pm Mountain time with Hailey who will join us to chat about her book. Horror Book Club: Parable of the Sower

For August, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading the critically acclaimed novel Parable of the Sower by award-winning author Octavia E. Butler. In this novel, after a global apocalypse devastates the environment and economy, a minister’s daughter Lauren Oya Olamina survives the massacre of her family and community. Fleeing north through a desolate America with two young companions, she confronts perilous challenges while spreading a transformative new religion focused on survival and change. Horror Book Club: FROST BITE by Angela Sylvaine

For July, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading the horror comedy novel Frost Bite by Angela Sylvaine. In this book, an alien worm has crash-landed in the town of Demise, North Dakota, and is now infecting animals with a memory-loss-inducing bite. It’s up to nineteen-year-old Realene and her best friend Nate to stop the spread and defeat the worms before the entire town loses its mind. You can purchase a copy here.

For June, The Thing in the Labyrinth horror book club is reading the horror novel Tender is the Flesh by Argentinian author Agustina Bazterrica.
