To be sure that their new year starts off right, some people take their superstitions seriously: burning scarecrows, sleeping in graveyards, listening closely to see if their animals talk to them, and other fun habits.

At DHC, we’re looking forward to ushering in the new year by checking under the snow to see what’s lurking there—and we’ve found some thrilling news for our members.

Our 2024 Steering Committee is: Desiree Dorman, Tom Mavroudis, Sean Murphy, Gary Robbe, Ashley Santana, Josh Schlossberg, Matt Sprague, Jeff Wood, with new member Kayla Woods (welcome!), and outgoing steering committee member, Henry Walker (thanks for your service!).

What’s more, member sales are kicking up, and fans can check out all our members’ works at our Dark Lit Market. Desi D has another exciting 4^th Circle interview for us with author Jason Fischer. While our book club, The Thing in the Labyrinth, returns to a normal schedule on Sunday, January 28, with the horror novella, KILLA.

And, finally, DHC is excited to announce the open submission call for our new anthology, FRONTIERS OF FRIGHT: A SOUTHWESTERN HORROR ANTHOLOGY edited by A.E. Santana.
