Courtney Elizabeth was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, but relocated to Northern Colorado in 1998. She finds that the mountains create an incredible escape and a way to reconnect with nature which fuels her creativity. Courtney enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and exploring all Colorado has to offer with her four boys and two puppers. However, the ocean runs in her veins and she loves visiting beaches around the world when she is fortunate enough to travel. And she is always sure to have a good book in hand.
Courtney has a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in writing, as well as a master’s degree in English. She has been an adjunct college professor for the last ten years and teaches College Composition, Advanced Academic Achievement, and Creative Writing. In addition, she is the Director of a program which provides college opportunities to high school students through the Community College where she has worked for the last 7 years.
While she is currently unpublished, Courtney has multiple works in progress. Her primary writing genre is fiction in the form of dark fiction and fantasy. She uses vivid imagery to tantalize the senses and immerse the reader into the sensations of the story, not just the words. Her first completed manuscript, Descendant, is the first in the Bloodlines series. This series is her own take on a classic theme and her personal favorite: vampires.
